The Stokes County Register of Deeds is an elected position, serving a four-year term. The Register of Deeds’ Office is charged with maintaining, preserving, indexing, and providing access to a variety of county records. We record deeds, deeds of trust, right of way agreements, UCCs, powers of attorney, plats, military discharges, satisfactions of deeds of trust, separation agreements, and other miscellaneous documents. We issue marriage licenses and administrator oaths to notaries. We also provide copies, both general and certified, of birth, marriage, and death records.
