The EMS for Children Program works to decrease child morbidity and mortality due to severe illness or injury. It does this by working to improve the emergency medical care system as it pertains to children's needs across the continuum of emergency care.

Operation Medicine Drop is a safe way to get rid of unwanted medications, which in turn helps prevent accidental poisonings and drug abuse, and protects water quality. Flushing medications down the toilet or throwing them away creates safety and health hazards.

This program was designed to allow for a patients medical information to be made known to emergency responders in the event that the patient cannot provide it.



CISMCISM
The Stokes County Critical Incident Stress Management Team is a group of volunteers trained in debriefing techniques for first responders that have experienced a critical stress incident.



FTOField Training Officer
This program is designed to educate EMS personnel to effectively train new employees and EMS students.

 

LazarusProject Lazarus
Project Lazarus is an organization established in 2008 in response to extremely high drug overdose death rates. This program helped to supply Narcan, an overdose antidote, to all first responders and law enforcement officers in Stokes County.

 

CITCrisis Intervention Team
This is a training program developed to help first responders react appropriately to situations involving mental illness or developmental disability.
