Community Health Assessment and Discussion Events

Every four years, local health departments are required to complete a Community Health Assessment of the county.  As part of this health assessment, we want to hear from the community of Stokes County.  If you live in Stokes County, take the 2012 Community Health Assessment to help identify the major health issues facing Stokes County at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CommunityHealthAssessment2012

 

If you are a Stokes County resident, we have four community discussion events scheduled that you are welcome to attend.  You may attend one of the four. 

 

September 25th, 6-7pm at King Library – Shelton Room

October 4th, 6-7pm at Walnut Cove Library

October 9th, 6-7pm at Sandy Ridge Fire Department – Training Room

October 11th, 6-7pm at Francisco Fire Department – Community Building

Prenatal Services

 

Beginning July 9th, the Danbury Health Department will offer prenatal services on Tuesday’s of each month.  The health department partnered with Wake Forest Baptist Hospital to provide quality prenatal care and supportive services to expectant mothers.   Call (336) 593-2400 for more information or to make an appointment.

Protect your animals from rabies  by getting the rabies vaccination at the below Rabies Clinic. Presented by Animal Rescue of Stokes and Stokes County Health Department.  *Proof of rabies vaccination required to obtain a 3 year vaccine. Animals will stay in car.

October 10, 2013 - Chestnut Grove Middle School from 3:30pm until 6:00pm in the schools gymnasium.

Parents must accompany children under 18 years of age. All persons are required to complete appropriate forms before receiving the vaccine. For convenience, persons may complete flu vaccine forms from online (below) or students and teachers can pick-up copies of the vaccine form at the front office of the middle schools.

 

The vaccine will cost $33 for the shot and $45 for nasal spray for persons paying out of pocket. Persons with insurance should be sure to bring insurance cards to confirm coverage.
