Immunization Clinic
Immunization Clinic: Our immunization program is not just for children. We feel that everyone no matter what age should continue to receive vaccines as suggested by the Center for Disease Control or the State of North Carolina. Stokes Family Health Center provides educational/counseling regarding immunizations. We provide patients with vaccine information sheets before giving vaccines and also explain contradictions or side effects of the vaccine. Also, we try to answer questions asked about vaccines. However, if we do not provide specific vaccines, often needed for travel, we will advise you of local facilities providing the vaccine. It is important to keep a copy of Immunization Records for children as well as adults. Stokes Family Health Center follows the Recommended Childhood Immunization Schedule provided by our State Immunization Program The current schedule is found at the NC State Immunization Section Web Site. New change in immunization rule: Effective January 1, 2008, the administrative rule, 10A NCAC 41A.0401, has been changed, adding requirements for one booster dose of Tdap (tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis) vaccine to be given to the following age groups: *All individuals attending public school who are entering the 6th grade on or after August 1, 2008, if five years or more have passed since the last dose of tetanus/diphtheria toxoid. *All individuals not attending public schools (i.e., private, home-school, non-traditional schools) who are 12 years of age on or after August 1, 2008, if five years or more have passed since the last dose of tetanus/diphtheria toxoid. *Individuals enrolling in college or university for the first time on or after July 1, 2008, if a tetanus/diphtheria toxoid or tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis vaccine has not been administered within the past 10 years. |
