Environmental Health

 

Our Division of Environmental Health is comprised of three environmental

health specialists, one supervisor and one processing assistant who are

dedicated to protecting the environment and promoting public health.  This is

accomplished through a variety of responsibilities, some of which include:

· Responding to complaints regarding septic systems, wells and food

· Issuing/denying septic system permits for new construction and repair

        of failing systems.

· Inspecting septic systems and water supply well construction

· Water sampling

· Public swimming pool, tattoo parlor, and summer camp inspections

· Providing education and consultation to the public

· Inspecting restaurants, rest homes, day cares, temporary food events,

        and migrant housing

· Plan review for new construction and renovations of food establishments

· Enforcement of state and local rules relating to the above areas
