Stokes County DSS strives to provide preventative and supportive services with competence and compassion. We are committed to protect our most vulnerable citizens (children, older adults, & disabled) from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.  Our services reach all areas of our county and we strive to assist families in obtaining knowledge, skills, and the support needed to remain or become strong, healthy, and self reliant.

The Stokes County DSS will be accepting applications on behalf of The Salvation Army for Christmas Assistance from October 1, 2017 through October 31, 2017.    The Salvation Army provides assistance for children from birth

 through the age of 12.

 

Interested families can apply in person at DSS in Danbury Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

or mail a completed and signed application to the Department of Social Services at PO Box 30, Danbury, NC 27016 or drop it off at the Department of Social Services office in Danbury or at the DSS box in King which is located at the Health Department.
