The following new schedule for Greenbox Sites will be effective August 1, 2011:

(Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (7:00am to 7:00pm)

 Saturday (7:00 am to 12:00 noon)     Will be closed on Wednesdays

PUBLIC NOTICE-PUBLIC HEARING

STOKES COUNTY HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN

 

The Stokes County Multi Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan has been updated by Stokes County.   The updated Stokes County

Multi Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan will continue to serve as a blueprint for the County and all municipalities to follow to

help reduce property damages and save lives from the effects of future natural hazards.  The Stokes County Multi Jurisdictional

Hazard Mitigation Plan is required in order for the County and all municipalities to receive certain types of state and federal disaster

relief funding when future disasters, e.g., widespread flooding occur.

 

The public, along with neighboring communities, agencies, businesses, academia, nonprofits and other interested parties are

invited to view the Hazard Mitigation Plan which is located in the Stokes County Emergency Services Office located at

106 Old Church Road, Danbury, NC or the Stokes County Administration Office located at

1014 Main Street Danbury, NC (weekdays 8:30-12:00/1:00-5:00) until 1:00 pm Monday, April 11, 2011.

 

The Stokes County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing at 1:40 pm on Monday, April 11, 2011

Commissioners will consider adopting a Resolution Declaring its Intent to Sell, Lease or Convey Stokes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital. 

At this time the only known potential buyer or lessee is HMC/CAH Consolidated, Inc., Kansas City, Missouri.  At the meeting, the

Board of County Commissioners will solicit additional interested lessees and purchasers, and all known and additional prospective lessees

and purchasers will be invited to submit proposals for the lease, sale or conveyance of Stokes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital. 

The Board of County Commissioners intends to negotiate the terms of the lease or sale of the hospital with the organization that submits

the proposal accepted by the County.

Public Hearing

 

The Stokes County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on October 25, 2010 at 6:00 pm in the Commissioner’s Chambers

in the Administrative Building located at 1014 Main Street, Danbury, NC. The hearing is in regard to application for grant funds

to the NC Division of Community Assistance (DCA). The County intends to apply for a $400,000 grant to provide comprehensive

rehabilitation to 7 dwellings and emergency repairs to another 7 dwellings.

 

All interested persons are invited to attend this hearing.  Persons needing special assistance or non-English speaking persons to

participate in this hearing should contact the County Manager’s Office at 336-593-2448 at least 48 hours prior to the hearing.
