The Board of Commissioners of the County of Stokes, State of North Carolina, met in recessed session (recessed from the November 27th meeting) in the Commissioners’ Chambers of the Ronald Wilson Reagan Memorial Building (Administrative Building) located in Danbury, North Carolina on Friday, December 1, 2006 at 4:00 pm with the
following members present:
Chairman Leon Inman
Commissioner Sandy McHugh
Commissioner John Turpin
Commissioner Jimmy Walker
Vice-Chairman Joe Turpin (absent)
County Personnel in Attendance:
Clerk to the Board/Interim County Manager Darlene Bullins
Chairman Leon Inman called the recessed meeting to order.
Commissioner Walker delivered the invocation.
Chairman Inman opened the meeting by inviting the citizens in attendance to join the Board with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Chairman Inman entertained a motion to approve or amend the minutes of the November 27, 2006 meeting.
Commissioner John Turpin moved to approve the minutes of the November 27, 2006 meeting.
Commissioner McHugh seconded and the motion carried (4-0) with ViceChairman Joe Turpin absent.
GENERAL GOVERNMENT – GOVERNING BODY – DEDICATION TO COMMISSIONER MCHUGH, COMMISSIONER JOHN TURPIN AND VICE CHAIRMAN JOE TURPIN
Chairman Inman presented Commissioner McHugh, Commissioner John Turpin, and Vice Chairman Joe Turpin (absent- Commissioner John Turpin accepted on behalf of Vice Chairman Turpin) a plaque and a Stokes County Arts Council Print in appreciation of their service to Stokes County as a Commissioner.
Commissioner Walker and Chairman Inman expressed their appreciation to Commissioner McHugh, Commissioner John Turpin, and Vice Chairman Joe Turpin for their service to Stokes County as a Commissioner.
The following who were in attendance for the meeting expressed their appreciation for the service given by Commissioner McHugh, Commissioner John Turpin, and Vice Chairman Joe Turpin:

· Mr. Sam Hill
· Register of Deeds Kathy Young
· Clerk to the Board Darlene Bullins
Commissioner McHugh and Commissioner John Turpin expressed their appreciation to the citizens of Stokes County for allowing them to serve as a Stokes County Commissioner.
There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Inman entertained a motion to adjourn the recessed meeting.
Commissioner John Turpin moved to adjourn the recessed meeting.
Commissioner McHugh seconded and the motion carried (4-0) with Vice Chairman Joe Turpin absent.
