The Board of Commissioners of the County
of Stokes, State of North Carolina, met in special session in the Council
Chambers of the Ronald Wilson Reagan Memorial Building (Administrative
Building), located in Danbury, North Carolina, on Monday, February 7, 2005 at
9:00 am with the following members present:
Chairman John Turpin
Vice-Chairman Leon Inman
Commissioner Sandy McHugh
Commissioner Joe Turpin (entered meeting at 9:09 am)

to the Board Darlene Bullins
Chairman John Turpin called the special
meeting to discuss and vote on a Resolution to provide matching funds for a
North Carolina Rural Center Grant for a proposed waterline to the Sauratown
Fire Department to order.
Chairman John Turpin presented a copy of
the proposed Resolution to each Board member.
The Board discussed the following issues
pertaining to the Rural Center Grant:
Extends adequate water supply along
Highway #66 to Sauratown
Fire Department
Potential for future job creations
Matching funds of $20,643 for project
Possible funds from other sources for
match
Six month extension of grant will enable
County
and City of King to accomplish
infrastructure improvements
Involve Water and Sewer Authority with
Grant
Need for adequate water supply for
Sauratown Fire Department
Benefits to citizens of Stokes County
Chairman John Turpin entertained a motion
to approve the proposed Resolution Authorizing the Governing Body of Stokes
County Economic Infrastructure Grants Program.
Commissioner McHugh moved to approve the
Resolution Authorizing the Governing Body of Stokes County Economic
Infrastructure Grants Program.
Vice Chairman Inman seconded and the
motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business to come
before the Board, Chairman John Turpin entertained a motion to adjourn the
meeting.
Commissioner McHugh moved to adjourn the
meeting.

motion carried unanimously.
